Morgan Le Fey
Created for a themed event, this is an late 14th / early 15th century historical take on Morgan Le Fey. Throughout the 14th century, legends of King Arthur developed in popularity. Though the story of Arthur took place much earlier, I wanted to capture Morgan Le Fey through the style of this period.
This gown, known as cotehardie, kirtle, cotte, cote, or gothic fitted gown, is based on early 15th century European sources. The dress is made of linen. The buttons are all handmade. The bottom hem features a contrasting fabric that matches the pin-on sleeves, all done with counterchange buttons. The accessories include dried herbs and oils and tinctures I created, all based on period alchemy and arranged on my person with a fun magical touch.
