Miranda The Tempest

Miranda The Tempest

Based on John William Waterhouse’s painting, I created this dress as something I could wear to historical reenactments. The design is also influenced by Christine de Pisan and 15th century artwork. The dress is all linen and fully lined, and it is worn over a red linen kirtle. The neckline is hand beaded with faux pearls. The belt is a piece of trim that I wove using tablet weaving, and the lacing cord was also done by hand using finger loop braid.
